More Dolls

The last time I wrote I told about sewing for my dolls. We had little porceline dolls that were about six inches tall and were perfect models for my fabulous designs. I would spend a few days each summer with my Aunt Mary and Uncle Jim. She did a lot of sewing so her "rag bag" held a lot of beautiful scraps of materials that were big enough for my doll. I think that must have carried over into my adult life as my daughters and I had a craft shop and I loved to be able to create craft items. We had a material called dip and drape. We had craft books that gave direction to make dolls. I taught classes for a long time and we finally tried our own designs. Sometimes we never know how our lives as a child can influence what we do as an adult. As I was growing up and being the oldest child I helped my Mom with the cooking so that was another practical skill that helped me in later life. I started cooking at about the age of nine. I will tell you more the next time about my early days of cooking and how different it is from the way I cook today.
