The Good Old Days

The last time I wrote I remembered the hard times we had in growing up. Now I would like to tell you about the things that we did that brings fond memories. We had many good times, like sledding in the winter. We had hills on our farm so we were the gathering place for the neighbor kids. We would sled until we were cold and wet. We would all gather in the house, huddle around the stove and Mom would make us hot chocolate that we would drink as we continued to thaw out. In the summer we played in the creek that ran through the farm. It was cool in the summer and the tadpoles that we caught were put in the horse tank to grow to frogs and hop away. We rode the horses without saddles, hanging on for dear life as they would decide to race through the fields. We had no TV's or computers with games, so we made our own entertainment. A movie was a real treat. Life moved slowly and it was peaceful.
